Use 3D Audio Hardware\Use EAX greyed out
Here are my computer specs:
Athlon 64 2.4Ghz
1GB Corsair XMS DDR400
7900GT
Raptor drive
Audigy 2 ZS Gamer (with updated drivers)
Logitech Z-680 5.1 speakers
I put the sound slider to highest quality and it still doesn't enable the USE 3d Audio Hardware. I know my hardware supports it! I rebooted the computer server times after moving the slider back down and up. I even went into the sound settings under control panel and put it on Full hardware configuration.
Does ANYONE know what to do in this situation? I am just so frustrated and ran out of ideas.

Windows XP or Windows Vista?
Try this, un-install anything that says "creative".
Run a driver cleaner program, such as this one - http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/U...essional.shtml
Go creative's web site, and choose there autoupdate feature (must be using Internet Explore). http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/su.asp
Always reboot when prompted.
I do own an Audigy 2 ZS and it does work with guildwars.

Okay, I just noticed something. Every time I go to see if the slider in the control panel > Sound & Audio Devices > Speakersettings\Advanced > Performance tab... the Hardware Acceleration keeps dropping down to basic acceleration.
When restoring defaults it goes to full and I hit Apply... but then when I reboot my computer, it drops back down to basic.
I checked other games like Halo PC, and they are shadded grey as well so it's not just guild wars I know it used to work cause I had used it in halo before. Help!

Step 1. Turn off motherboard sound support.
Step 2. Remove the drivers.
Step 3. Goto the autoupdater for your region on creatives site and get the latest drivers and creative mediaplayer (there is a reason)
Step 4. Install said things.
After installing those things you will have the latest drivers AND control panel which will put EAX HD on your system. After that it should work fine.

Start -> Run -> "dxdiag"
Go to the sound tab, and check to make sure it is set to "Full Acceleration"
I had turned mine down to basic earlier to help solve Oblivion crashes.

Not sure about this card. Go to start, programs, creative and see if it installed a program called alchemy. If it did, run that program and select guild wars. Then edit your guild wars shortcut and add -dsound

alchemy is only for enabling EAX on vista/7. if OP is using XP, he has no use for it.

OOOPS
The orig post didn't specify an OS. I just saw his next post does say XP, and XP won't run directx 10 so no need for alchemy. My bad.
